Vashon Island Art Studio Tour, May 4-5 & 11-12, 10AM to 5 PM

 You're invited to come visit our studio on the Vashon Island Spring Art Studio Tour, May 4-5 and 11-12, (2 weekends!) from 10am - 5pm. Shane and I will be presenting a large selection of our beeswax candles, sand etched glassware and candle holders. I'll also be giving demonstrations of Ukrainian egg making using traditional flame-heated tools and beeswax-resist techniques. Come see the farm, enjoy our cozy yurt studio and find some lovely handmade gifts for Mother's Day.

The Vashon Island Art Studio Tour is a free, self-guided event featuring 23 studios this May. Come see glass blowers, sculptors, painters, potters, jewelers, woodworkers, and more. Shane and I will be presenting a large selection of our beeswax candles, sand-etched glassware and candle holders. I'll also be giving demonstrations of Ukrainian egg making using traditional flame-heated tools and beeswax-resist techniques. Come see the farm, enjoy our cozy yurt studio and find some lovely handmade gifts. 
 

The Vashon Island Art Studio Tour is a free, self-guided event featuring 38 studios this December. Follow the numbers designated on the Studio Tour map which is available online at VashonIslandArtStudioTour.com, and at most island businesses. Ferry Schedules from West Seattle (Fauntleroy), Tacoma (Point Defiance), and Kitsap (Southworth) are available at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries.

For over 30 years, island artists have run the tour as a coopertative and sustainable way to show and sell their work. Visitors on the tour will see extraordinary art exhibits presented by the artists themselves in a variety of venues - studios, workshops, gardens, a yurt, a renovated auto-repair shop, community centers, and local galleries. Some studios will have demonstrations going on throughout the two weekends. Visitors can watch a Northwest Native carver at work, observe the art of Ukrainian egg decorating, blow their own glass ornaments, and see pottery wheel demonstrations.

Vashon Island's Annual Strawberry Festival will be the weekend of July 21-22 this year. This will be Fiddle Home Studio's fourth year at the festival. Our booth will be set up in Ober Park with Vashon's many talented local artists. We'll have a large selection of our beeswax candles, sand etched glassware and pottery  candle holders. Come see this summer's new etched glass designs! We have dozens of new votive cups, lanterns, vases, glass pendants and framed art glass.
