Learn the art of making pysanky (batik Easter eggs) using flame-heated tools and ancient beeswax-resist techniques. This meditative art form, practiced in Ukraine and Eastern Europe for thousands of years, is a beautiful way to welcome in the spring.
Emily Pruiksma, an artist with over 25 years experience making pysanky, will offer a Ukrainian egg making workshop on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 2-4 pm at Fiddle Home Studio on Vashon Island. Participants will complete 1-2 eggs and take home a full kit of supplies. Cost is $45 plus a $20 supply fee. Adults and children (ages 10 and older) are encouraged to register.
Class size is limited. To reserve a space, please email fiddlehome [at] gmail [dot] com or call (206) 745-0451. Individual and private group sessions are also available; please inquire if interested.
